On June 30, 2025, the M3DAS project marked a pivotal milestone with the official commencement of its third and final year. A successful online inception meeting was held to synchronize efforts for the next phase of the mission, which shifts its focus to the key sugarcane regions of Luzon.

New Study Sites for Year 3
The expansion into the third year brings the project’s digital assessment tools to the following mill districts:

Cagayan

Tarlac

Pampanga

During the meeting, the M3DAS team laid out the comprehensive roadmap for the year, including proposed field activities, updated implementation timelines, and the overarching goal of creating a unified, digital mechanization profile for these districts.

Institutional Support and Collaboration
The transition into Year 3 was made possible through the continued partnership with the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA). We extend our sincere appreciation to the following leaders for their strategic guidance:

Mr. Joel G. Ronario (OIC Chief Agriculturist, ESD Luzon)

Engr. Eugene J. Valencia (OIC Mill District Officer, Tarlac)

Mr. Timothy P. Amboya (OIC Mill District Officer, Cagayan)

Ms. Roselle Mae A. Matala (Mill District Officer, Pampanga)

Engr. Jean Paul Quirino (ABE Division, SRA)

The Final Phase of Innovation
As the project enters this concluding phase, the focus remains on refining the M3DAS Web Application to ensure it serves as a sustainable tool for the industry long after the project ends. By mapping the resources in Cagayan, Tarlac, and Pampanga, M3DAS is completing a vital national picture of sugarcane mechanization.
