The M3DAS project team, together with key stakeholders, held a validation workshop on February 26 at Park-Lay Suites in Kidapawan City, Cotabato.
The activity was conducted to present and validate the initial results and analysis of the mechanization resource survey in Cotabato mill district, as well as gather the comments and suggestions of the stakeholders. Participants came from different sectors of the sugarcane industry, including representatives from the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office XII – Regional Agricultural Engineering Division (DA RFO XII – RAED), the Provincial Agriculture Office of Cotabato, City and Municipal Agriculture Offices, Cotabato Sugar Central Company, Inc., block farm and planters representatives including High Yield Sugar Farms Corp., MK Sugarcane Planters Association, NEBUSPA, CSCCI, CSBFF, Maguinapas BF, GSBFA and COSUSECO, along with M3DAS coordinators, enumerators, and project staff. Ms. Ofelia Domingo from the Agricultural Resources Management Research Division (DOST-ARMRD) also joined the activity.
The session provided an opportunity for stakeholders to review the collected information, validate the survey results, and share feedback on the current mechanization situation in the area. Their participation helps ensure that the data gathered will support better planning and decision-making for sugarcane mechanization in Cotabato.
