FGD and KII for Sugarcane Industry Mechanization in Leyte

From October 24–27, 2023, the M3DAS team conducted a comprehensive field activity in Leyte to evaluate the current state of sugarcane mechanization. In strategic collaboration with the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), the Department of Agriculture, the Ormoc City Agriculturist Office, and the Mill District Development Council, the team established critical baseline data and gathered preliminary insights through Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). These sessions engaged a diverse range of stakeholders, including sugarcane planters’ associations and block farm representatives, to ensure a data-driven approach to industry modernization.
