On November 26, 2024, the M3DAS project reached a major milestone in Mindanao by conducting a comprehensive Enumeratorsโ Training in Valencia City, Bukidnon. This session prepared a large-scale field team to transition from traditional methods to digital, paperless data collection.
The training was attended by a robust group of 33 participants, including:
Mr. Johnny Z. Agsaoay, Jr. (SRA Mill District Officer) and 7 SRA personnel.
25 Enumerators representing a wide geographic range across Bukidnon, including the municipalities of Kadingilan, Maramag, Pangantucan, Don Carlos, Damulog, Valencia City, Quezon, Kitaotao, and San Fernando.
Technical Mastery of the M3DAS Web App
The workshop focused on the full operational lifecycle of the M3DAS Web Survey App, a specialized system designed to map, monitor, and assess sugarcane mechanization. Key training components included:
System Deployment: Step-by-step guidance on application installation and configuration.
Data Management: Intensive modules on digital encoding, precise data capturing, and cloud-based uploading.
Hands-on Application: A guided practical exercise where participants applied their learning in a simulated field environment.
Strategic Impact
By equipping this diverse group of enumerators, the project ensures the collection of high-quality baseline data essential for analyzing the current state of sugarcane mechanization in the Philippines.
M3DAS continues to bridge the gap between traditional farming and modern technology through the funding of DOST-PCAARRD and the collaborative implementation of UPLB-BIOMECH and DA-SRA.
