From August 18–22, 2025, the M3DAS Project team carried out a series of strategic courtesy visits across the province of Cagayan. These meetings were essential for establishing the multi-sectoral support needed for the successful rollout of the project’s third-year implementation in Northern Luzon.
Building Institutional Synergy
The team engaged with key leadership across government agencies, local government units (LGUs), and the private sector to ensure a unified approach to agricultural data collection:
DA – Regional Field Office II (RAED): Aligning project goals with the Regional Agricultural Engineering Division to ensure technical standards are met.
Office of the Provincial Agriculturist: Coordinating with provincial leadership to integrate M3DAS data into broader provincial agricultural development plans.
Tuao Municipal Hall: Securing local executive support to facilitate smooth field operations for enumerators within the municipality.
URC Cagayan Robina Sugar Milling Company (CARSUMCO): Strengthening ties with the private sector to ensure the project accurately captures the mechanization resources surrounding one of the region’s primary milling hubs.
Impact of Collaboration
These visits go beyond mere formality; they create a collaborative ecosystem where data flows freely between the M3DAS researchers, government regulators, and private stakeholders. This synergy is vital for the eventual drafting of a localized Mechanization Plan that is both realistic and data-driven.
