The newly approved project, โ€œResource Field Evaluation and Spatial Analysis Using the M3DAS Web Application for Mechanization Assessment of the Sugarcane Industry,โ€ has reached a major operational milestone. Designed to conduct a comprehensive survey of all machinery and implements utilized in sugarcane production nationwide, this initiative serves as a vital complementary project to the ongoing DOST-PCAARRD funded M3DAS program.

Formal Commencement and Strategic Partnership
On October 22, 2024, the M3DAS team attended a high-level inception meeting at the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) headquarters in Quezon City. This meeting served as the official launch of the project, highlighted by several key developments:

Official Notice to Proceed: The formal signing of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) signaled the transition from planning to active implementation.

Institutional Alignment: The session solidified the collaborative framework between the M3DAS team and the SRA, ensuring a unified approach to field evaluation.

Expansion of Scope: This partnership paves the way for exhaustive data collection and spatial analysis, providing a granular view of the technical assets currently driving the sugarcane sector.

By integrating spatial analysis with the existing M3DAS web application, this project will deliver the robust data infrastructure needed to modernize sugarcane mechanization and improve production efficiency across the Philippines.
